Ballet or Dance inspired Crochet Patterns

My seven year old daughter is in her second year of dance (she's on the mini performance team this year) and I've found myself OBSESSED with dance.  Ballet, in particular.  A couple of my recent patterns have reflected that.  I thought it would be fun to put together a collection of some other dance-inspired crochet patterns!  I hope you enjoy it.

Small Ballerina Bun Cover:

Note:  ‘ch 4’ at beg of rnd is counted as a dc (plus ch 1) in final stitch count.

Rnd 1:  Magic ring, ch 4, [dc, ch 1] in ring seven times, after last ‘ch-1’, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ‘ch-4’.  (8 dc)

Rnd 2:  sl st in ‘ch-1’ sp below, ch 4, (dc, ch 1) twice in same ‘ch-1’ sp,
(dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1) in ea of next 3 ‘ch-1’ sps,
(dc, ch 1) three times in next ‘ch-1’ sp,
(dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1) in ea of next 3 ‘ch-1’ sps,
after last ch-1, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ‘ch-4’.  (18 dc)

Rnd 3:  sl st in ‘ch-1’ sp below, [ch 3, sc in next ‘ch-1’ sp] repeat to end of rnd, do not join after last ‘ch-1’ sp, but continue to work in a spiral by working the next sc in the first ‘ch-3’ sp of the prev rnd.  (18 ‘ch-3’ sps)  Add stitch marker and move with each rnd.

Continue working in a spiral with (ch 3, sc in next ‘ch-3’ sp) until bun cover measures approximately 2.5 to 3” from center of magic ring to edge.  When correct height is reached, ch 3 and sl st in next ‘ch-3’ sp to end the pattern repeat section.

Fasten off and weave in ends.  Thread ribbon through holes in last rnd and tie in a bow.
